Do Hillary Clinton's Supporters Follow Satan's Playbook?
Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama both idolize Saul Alinsky, the author of "Rules For Radicals", the liberal social progressives bible. He dedicated his book to Satan, who feasts on the souls of anyone involved with groups that promote or support abortion....

To be faithful in little things is a great thing.
Thoughts are little things, but they have power. Thoughts lead to action. Thoughts place before our eyes a goal. Thoughts focus our attention. Thoughts mobilize our energy. And then our bodies and emotions go to work....

Jesus and Gender Ideology
gender is not a matter of power or control or supremacy but a matter of role. Yes, I understand that this is not the Politically Correct view of today, but truth is truth. God made us male and female so we could marry and carry on the human race until the day of resurrection when there would be no m...

The Gift of Humility
A couple of months ago I was the kind of person who would say to never pray for humility because God loves giving it to us. Now I find myself asking for it more and more. What changed you may ask? Well, I believe I am discovering what a gift humility actually is....

What are you to do?
Tragedy comes. Some affect us. Some do not. Either way, we are still called to be Christ. As Christians, we are to imitate Christ. In the midst of tragedy, we can be Christ. Are you suffering? Then, you may be Christ on the Cross. Is someone you love suffering? Perhaps then, you are Mary wa...

From Egypt I Called my Son
After the Magi had gone and adored the Child Jesus in the manger, it was expected that the Holy Family would return to Nazareth, where the Annunciation had occurred, as described in the Gospel according to Luke. The Holy Family’s journey to Bethlehem was nothing more than a civic duty regarding the ...

The "divine and natural" law shows man the way to follow so as to practice the good and attain his end.
There is a great confusion in the phrase "letter of the law." Many Christians believe this to mean that we are not under God's Law anymore, and that we are free to disregard God's Law (such as the Ten Commandments), as long as we keep the spirit of the law. However, it is a scriptural truth that if ...

The Holy Catholic Church?
Of all the distinguishing marks of the Church, the Church’s holiness is perhaps the hardest to reconcile with reality. The Church’s history is riddled with scandals and scoundrels. Even to this day, the enemies of the Church use this as a weapon to discredit the Church....

Big Fish, Little Fish Theory
My Dear Brother, I was driving home from Louisville tonight and felt compelled to pray for you. I do pray for you often but I’m not good at praying praying. I’m trying to improve the way I pray by getting away from praying my old way of, “Lord please blah blah blah,” and then it’s over but this time...

If There Is No Resurrection, Then Who Cares?

Do You Want chips or An Apple? Should we let our children choose which religion they want to practice?
I remember that one of the issues that caught my eye the most when I came to live in Canada was listening to some parents say that they would let their children choose which religion they want to practice when they reach the age of maturity....

It is often easier to fight for your principles than to live up to them.
As we move to Election Day in the U.S., I think Jesus’ words may give us pause and a caution not to fall into the “heresy” of the Pharisee in the parable....

Just pray for them
While on a run in the local park, I was stopped by a homeless woman who usually speaks to me about God and the Bible. She will on occasion ask me what Father spoke about in his homily. I usually tell her what the Homily was about or, more importantly, tell her about the daily readings....

The Gospel Causes Division
In Luke’s gospel, chapter 12, Jesus made some startling statements: “I have come to set the earth on fire….Do you think I have come to establish peace on the earth? No, I tell you, but rather division….a father will be divided against his son…a mother against her daughter.”...

Tattoos & the Transmission of Faith
Full disclosure: I have 10 tattoos… and I am very much Catholic. Perhaps that’s a shocking way to introduce a piece that attempts to bridge a perceived gap between two seemingly disconnected subjects, but I wish to point out, up front, that the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) delineates no po...

Modern Martyrdom
On October 19th, the Church celebrated Saints John de Brébeuf, Isaac Jogues, and Companions, but they are commonly called the North American Martyrs. They were Jesuit missionaries from France who had come to North America to convert the natives, and they came knowing full well they would be in const...
