When it comes to God - We can't run out of second chances...only time.
This Gospel reminds us that as the disciples were with Jesus in these last days, there was a lot of secrecy and confusion; it is clear that the disciples did not understand what was happening. I imagine the question, “What lies ahead?” had to be at the forefront in many of the disciples’ minds....

Betray Jesus? NO-Never!!
Last night I had a flare up with my husband, over a long running issue of him pointing out ‘what I forget to do’ while I go behind him and undo what he has left undone and I don’t say anything. (It is not use, habits are hard to change.)...

Signs don't shout; they whisper.
Are there times when we are caught in the trap of seeking evil, perhaps in such ways as giving in to some negative gossip, jumping into a situation in order to solely be divisive? I am guilty of not assuming the best intentions of someone in an annoying situation or of judging too quickly and I need...

The Presence of God
The presence of God in our lives embraces us. God’s presence is a dynamic power and should be overwhelming. Intimacy with God yields unimaginable joy. So beautiful. So sweet. Is it easy to be distracted from God? An outrageous concept but sadly it does happen. God does not force His presence on us....

So, What's the Deal with Prayer?
Prayer is something that is vital to the Christian faith, but just how many of us take time out of our day to pray? When one is asked if they pray, a whirlwind of excuses come up, the main excuse is not having time. That excuse hides the real reason why people don’t pray being they can’t focus and g...

All great things are simple And Many can be expressed in one word.
As I read through John’s Gospel, I could not help but think of the saying, “less is more.” Not because of the number of words that John uses, but because of a phrase Jesus uses. As Jesus explains to the Pharisees who he is, among a bit of context, he simply says, “I AM.” Jesus could have inserted an...

If we don't listen to Jesus we miss out on his plan for us.
Sometimes I admire the apostles and sometimes I feel sorry for them. I believe they understood how blessed they were to be with Jesus and how special they were to have been singled out by Jesus. It was probably not too hard for them to believe what Jesus told them. They didn’t yet have the gifts of ...

In every single thing you do, you are choosing a direction. Your life is a product of choices.
We see in the readings at Mass that many people were working against Jesus. His death was not an accident. But for every person whose choices helped put Jesus on the Cross, there was a choice. We remember that on the Cross, Jesus prayed, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doin...

There is no middle ground. What is not true is false.
Indeed coming around to accept a hard truth often takes time and slow digestion. It forces us to reorganize our world and make room for something which was not previously there. The end result, usually, is our having to conform ourselves to this new revelation, this new idea, this new belief; and we...
