Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.

When Jesus in this Gospel passage notes that a lamp is meant to be “placed on a lampstand”, He does not specifically refer to His disciples here as “the light of the world”, as He does in Matthew’s account of the Sermon on the Mount.
