A Chapter of Dominican Tertiaries in Idaho are holding a Colloquium on the Social Doctrine of the Catholic Church on Friday and Saturday, April 17, and 18, 2015 at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Boise, Idaho. The prioress of the Blessed Margaret of Castello Boise Chapter, Carolyn Reese, will call the Colloquium to order at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17th. The purpose of the Colloquium is to survey the Holy Scriptures, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the Vatican II documents, and the papal encyclicals of the past 125 years for key principles that define the Church's social mission. These principles are founded on the natural law and reason, giving rise to the fundamental dignity of each human person, the right to life and liberty, and the basis of good order and right reason in society.
The Idaho lay Dominicans are hosting the Colloquium that includes Dominican fathers and lay people as speakers and participants in the colloquy over this interesting subject. The purpose is to make the Church's social mission better understood and personal to individual participants and attendees. One can check out more information at www.dominicanidaho.org.
