Christmas Eve, I returned to the convent after working my shift at the reception desk, helping deliver Christmas goodies to our neighbors, and catching up on some things in chapel, where I serve as sacristan....

What Will Our Heavenly Bodies Look Like?
The Holy Scriptures, along with Church Tradition, clearly teach that when (or if?) we get to Heaven, we will not be pure spirits like the angels. We will have bodies. Our earthly bodies will be resurrected, with all the decay of death completely removed....

The Walls of Our Unbelief
It was 1918. The young intellectual was nervous about her upcoming visit to Anne, the widow of Adolf Reinach, killed at the 1917 Battle of Flanders....

Do You Believe This?
The promise of eternal life, and a reason for sufferings. These are the themes of John 11, they really deserve an entire book, and not just an online 2000 word post, but as one of my favorite chapters in the entire Bible I felt like giving it a go here....

Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before! What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more!
Traditionally gifts are not opened until Christmas Day itself: if gifts are not so much about the object given but about the giver's love, then it is indeed fitting that gifts be opened on Christmas Day itself....

What Can We Expect for 2017?
As we enter 2017, many people are still recovering from the stress and drama of 2016. From a political, social and religious standpoint, 2016 was a year of unexpected and unimaginable turmoil. The year brought us to the edge of a tall cliff....

So This Is Purgatory!
This is not a great topic for this time of year, but life goes on, and perhaps it is the perfect topic, for not everyone is 'merry' during the Holidays....

Question; Do Catholics Believe in Mary for Their Salvation?
The only person who has the ability to redeem us is the God who created us, in becoming man and dying as a sacrificial offering for us (Hebrews 10:10-14)....

Peace and Love
This year in our world has been angry. Being on Facebook, watching the news, talking to others, everything is angry and negative. There seems to be such an absence of love, peace and serving others. Yet, that is what this holy season is about....

The giving of gifts is not something man invented. God started the giving spree when he gave a gift beyond words, the gift of His Son.
As Matthew’s story of Jesus’ birth unfolds in this gospel, we see that St. Joseph chooses the way of faith, he puts his trust in God, and not withstanding whatever doubts, questions or puzzlement that might arise from that all too human incapacity to understand the ‘non-rational...

Blessed Is She Who Believed
What a woman Mary is. I’m in awe of her faith that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her: carrying the Christ child lovingly in her womb, believing in His purposes for her life and for her child, and obeying His direction step-by-step even when she couldn't see the big picture....

Right is right, even if everyone is against it, and wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it.
These scriptures from Mass remind us that to prepare for the coming of Christ, we must look for Jesus where perhaps we least expect to find him....

Have A Catholic Amish Christmas - Learning to slow down and enjoy the coming of Christ
Often when we think of Amish life we think of horses, buggies, jam, soap, one room school houses, wood stoves, and the lack of electricity. Some of us wish we could run away from our hectic lives for a day or so and live the simple life, and some of us say, “no way, I need my car and electricity.”...
